Civil Air Patrol Responds to Tennessee Winter Storms

Members of the Civil Air Patrol Tennessee Wing from across the state have been responding to the damage caused by recent winter storms.  Tennessee saw level 3 and 2 states of emergency as winter storms hit the area.  At the request  of the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, CAP members have assisted with debris removal, aerial photography, and supply transport.

Disaster Relief is one of the key components of our Emergency Services mission.

According to TEMA, state  agencies working the storm response include: Commerce & Insurance, Environment & Conservation, Correction, Finance & Administration, General Services, Health, Human Services, National Guard, Tennessee Commissioner on Aging, Tennessee Division of Forestry, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Tennessee Department of Transportation, Tennessee State Parks, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Volunteer Tennessee.  Response support is also being provided from the American Red Cross, Civil Air Patrol, FEMA, National Weather Service, Salvation Army, Tennessee Valley Authority and Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster.
